Jennifer Gates


Jennifer focuses her practice on environmental litigation, including cleanup disputes, natural resource damage claims, real estate transactions gone awry and permit and other regulatory violations. She also advises clients on RCRA and Clean Water Act permit compliance. Jennifer provides efficient, cost effective and responsive service when helping clients identify a strategy to resolve environmental issues, and provides well-reasoned counsel regarding the risks and benefits of litigation. Prior to joining PLG in February 2016, Jennifer litigated environmental and business disputes as a partner at a Portland firm after practicing in Washington D.C. for four years.
Jennifer has been a member of the Oregon Council on Court Procedures since 2010 and previously served on and chaired the Oregon State Bar’s Judicial Administration Committee. She is a member of the Oregon, Washington, District of Columbia and Virginia bars and is admitted to practice in numerous federal district and appellate courts. She received her J.D. from the University of Iowa in 2001 as well as a M.A. in Urban & Regional Planning.
Outside of the office, Jennifer enjoys rowing with a crew on the Willamette River and backpacking with her family.
